Can someone recommend a GOOD tailor’s thimble?

I'm not ready to purchase an expensive thimble, but the inexpensive thimbles I've tried aren't working well or at all. I tried Dritz and Lacis. Both were really thin and too deep (came down to the knuckle). I tried a Hisew Stainless Steel and Brass Thimbles Set, and it is okay, but it's really thick and isn't dimpled all the way around. Lastly, I tried antique tailor thimbles on Ebay, thinking a thimble made prior to 1960 would be sturdy and made to last.

All that said, I see thimbles Reza and a couple more of you use and could use a recommendation. Thanks.

As usual, I've kept researching thimbles and considering options 🙄🤣

I visited all of the sites on the ISOT Resources page and had a little luck. I'm still waiting to hear back from Piero, but the search goes on. I'm sure a thimble search seems like a small thing to all of you tailors but but, what can I say? I'm probably just crazy 🤪 Anyway...

One of the first things I discovered is that the curved metal pieces found at the end of a cable are also called thimbles.

The other thing I discovered is that most thimbles only have dimples part of the way down, which makes no sense to me.

I also discovered that the size of a thimble is measured in millimeters or some king of whole numbering system, or the seller might just take a picture of it laying on a ruler and let you figure it out. I did find one seller who used a micrometer but only measured the diameter of the outside, not the inside.🙄

I found some "ring" designs, but I'm trying to follow Reza's suggestion, so that won't work. Some of these were meant to be worn on the middle phalange which seems a little weird.

The cheap thimbles were really thin, and as such, the dimples were shallow, so the back side of the needle slips out.

After all of that, I figured, what the hell, I'll make my own. I contacted a place in India that has a thimble press for sale and am waiting to hear back from them with a price.🫣🤣

Again, if any of you can recommend a decent, middle-of-the-road priced thimble, I'd appreciate the info.

Lastly, and this is directed to Reza, I really like the thimble you designed, but you might consider designing similar thimbles you could offer at a range of prices. From the advertising, it looks like you printed various models on a 3D printer. Any chance I could buy a 3D printed version? 😁
