Muddying the Posts
I always tend to be overly critical of my work and ideas, and am a little concerned that I'm muddying the purpose of the IST community by discussing my current projects. I'm not a tailor but am very interested in learning how it's done. Sewing is something I'm learning in order to create things my family needs or wants that either isn't available to buy or too expensive to have someone else make. I post questions and ideas here because the foundation of tailoring seems to be applicable to the things I create, which is, getting a two dimensional surface to cover a three dimensional shape in a predictable way. However, I'm not making clothes for people, I'm making clothing for chairs. 😁 That said, as we are all attending the International School of TAILORING, it's probably a good idea to keep my posts "on point."
Reza, please feel free to delete any of my posts that don't reinforce or advance your mission or intent. It certainly won't hurt my feelings, and I certainly don't want to distract the rest of the class with my questions, comments, or general bullshitery. 🤐

Thanks for letting me know, and yes, I'm an outsider to tailoring but learning to sew has given me a greater appreciation for the craft. Watching your videos on tailoring and trying to incorporate some of that in my personal projects, like the boat seat "jackets," however has truly given me a greater respect for the trade.
I'm a novelist, not a tailor, but love what you're doing to support your trade and future tailors. I enjoy learning new things, particularly if it's a new skill and have no doubt you will end up in one of my books some day. 😁👍
Thanks for all you do!
