Module 4 - How to Fit a Jacket is one of the five modules of our how to make a bespoke jacket series.

This module teaches you how to fit a bespoke jacket. It will be published in the form of a video library on YouTube.

This library is made of short videos ranging between 2-10 minutes.

Each video will cover a single alteration. You will first see the bad version. We will explain the changes that need to be made on the pattern. The changes on the pattern are animated next to the jacket in the video.

Then, we will show you how the jacket will look when corrected followed by a side-by-side comparisons.

The library will be organised on seam and panel names. So if you have a problem with your shoulder seams or the back, you can select the playlist that only covers those mistakes.

Producing high quality content is costly. We spend many hours, writing, testing, filming and editing each lesson. This is a full-time project.

Every alteration requires us to remark the pattern along with the garment. These changes then have to be basted back together.

This is a lengthy process. Especially when there are more than 200 alterations to film. We will need to hire full time assistant to help us with the actual sewing.

To explain the principles behind each alteration, we must visualise them. We will need a 3D animator who can animate things that we would otherwise never be able to show you.

Animations and renders are not only complex processes that require close collaboration, but are also costly.

Editing the videos will take a lot of time. We can't do them on our own. Otherwise it will take us many years to finish the project. We will have to work with freelance editors who can edit the videos while we are filming new ones.

A project of this magnitude will use a lot of electricity. Lights, irons, cameras, computers will be on for long hours, increasing our monthly bills.

Some equipment needs replacing or updating. We will have to have enough storage for the videos. If a light stops working, we must replace it.

Then there is the cost of an office or studio rental that is specifically dedicated to this project.

All these factors will require a large budget. This will not be a small library. The videos are detailed. It is not a hobby project anymore.

The library will be available both on YouTube and our website for free.

Depending on how much we have raised by October 2025, we will either extend the campaign, or scale down the project. We cannot do this project without any funding. It is a large project and requires full-time commitment.

We might launch a second campaign. If the amount raised is very low, we will offer a refund to all donors.

If you have donated before towards team expansion, then your donation will be incorporated in this project.

However, donations that have been made towards Spanish translations and our Bespoke Pattern App will be used only for those purposes.

If you have extensive skills in 3D software, video editing or sewing, you can either volunteer part-time. If we have met our goals for funding, and you can join us full-time, we could employ you for the duration of the project.
