baste fitting without sleeves

in Your Results

Catching up with the lessons for the traditional model. The jacket is baste together and the collar is on. There is some lenght in the back. I will let that check by my collegue after Christmas. Very happy how it turned out so far.

I have followed other online lessens and a one on one training some years ago. But nothing can beat these lessons by Reza! The best tailoring education I have had so far. Thank you so much Reze to make this craft accessible to everyone!!!

Hey Martin,

Is sleeveless Joe the Jacket still sleeveless?🤣 I'm eager to see how they came out and hear about any issues you ran into. You mentioned you had made a lot of shirts, and I'm assuming the thicker fabric and multiple layers of a jacket created a real challenge. I expect it will be a problem for me, so any tips would be appreciated.

That looks great Martin!

It looks very well balanced (to me), and it's interesting to see Reza's design in a different colored fabric. I did notice in the side photo that the armpit looked a little high, but I'm guessing that's only because the sleeves aren't on and the seam allowance is sticking up. I'm looking forward to seeing it when you're done.

thank you Bill,

the pattern of the coat is made by me and I applied the techniques learned form Reza. The balance is not correct. the waist is rising up. Seems that there is not enough length in the front pannel. When this is altered I have to see If the armhole has changed. Then it is time to cut the sleeves.... It takes some passion to get there.

Now that you pointed it out, I see what you mean. I gave your response some thought and studied the pictures a while and have some questions, but I'll put them in a new post. Looking at the side view, there really is a prominent upward slope from the bottom of the back to the front. The basting lines and tailor's tacks kook like a great way to check alignment throughout the construction process.

It'll be interesting to see how you resolve the length issue in the front. I'm guessing you left enough (crap...I can't remember the word...ease?) beyond the seam allowance to cover the distance..
