I successfully printed the 8 pages for the Oval Ham, plus the size of the pattern matches the Estimate Size you provided. However, I'm concerned about the amount of ink needed to print each page given the heavy border lines and large text fonts used.
I just bought a new Brother Laser Print designed to print in black ink only. I am getting away from colour inkjet printers to hopefully reduce ink usage. Before deciding which printer to buy, I found out that ink usage (both colour and black ink printers) base the number of pages that can be printed per ink cartridge on only 5% of the page being printed on.
I used Greyscale but I can see my going through a lot of ink by the time we print out the templates and jacket pattern.
I know ISOT is in addition to your regular tailoring commitments. And it may be too late for you to remove the heavy borders and large font size for text for the existing templates (hams and rulers/small pattern pieces). Are you including them in your jacket pattern? If you are is it too late for you to remove the border and/or replace it with a much finer line, and reduce the size/intensity of the text font as well?
I can't thank you enough for the incredible amount of tailoring expertise you're providing. I hope I'm not being a pest as I really want you to become better known and attract more people to professional tailoring.
A tip: PDF has layers, so you could keep the nice purple borders and users can then choose to not print that layer
Hello Sandra,
We will look into this moving forwards. I appreciate the idea of saving on ink.
