I'm a seasoned costume technician in the United States who has had a taste of tailoring. Since graduating in 2005, I’ve worked in several Tony Award-winning regional theater costume departments such as The Goodman in Chicago and Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon. I was working at the latter when shelter-in-place orders went into effect. The show was heavy on tailoring and it was a treasure to learn alongside experienced cutters and master stitchers introducing me to the old world traditions. Like many, the pandemic informed a pivot in my career. 2 years in I remain at a nice admin job, but the hands and mind crave meaningful work. I'm here to explore that epiphany. Thank you, Reza.
